I had 20x9''s and swapped them out for 18x9.5''s. I would have loved to have weighed just the rims against each other but couldn't.

The front 20x9'' rims and 255/35-20 tires weighed 58lbs each. The front 18x9.5'' and 275/40-18's weighed 57lbs each.

The rear 20x9'' rims and 275/35-20 tires weighed 59lbs each. The rear 18x9.5'' and 305/35-18 drag radials weighed ~57lbs each.

They were within 2lbs in weight of each other but I came away with .5'' wider rims and MUCH more rubber on the road.

Handling improved substantially.. felt like I upgraded the suspension or something.. and this is over the substantial handling improvement I got from going to the 20's from the stock 17's and 235/55's!

If this car was rated .87g from the factory, I'm pulling at least a .93g now. Can't wait to get some suspension under there now...

You forgot about 19's perhaps the best of both worlds.

Anyway, there are some pretty light wheels in 20's and even some that will fit the larger brake kits. www.Wheelreplicas.com has some 20's that only weigh 27 pounds per wheel, which is pretty darn good for 20's.

I think it would be pretty darn close actually... I was really surprised at the razor 20'' weight.

I think tirerack.com has them listed at 27-28 lbs ea.
