so starting yesterday.. occasionally, when i come to a braking hault, i'll hear a quick deep "pop" sound that sounds like it's coming from under the hood. i've looked under there once, noticed that the hood prop wasn't secured so i secured it and thought the problem was solved. i was wrong. i can't figure this out. i'm hoping it'll stop by tomorrow.. if not, any ideas?

Is it lowered? I know there has been a "popping" or "clanking" problem with the OEM strut mounts on some cars with aftermarket springs or dampers.

I would check upper stut mount as well as the lower strut attach bolts. Also wheel lugs and brake caliper bolts.
