I have a Cervini hood, and it has always shook since day one. Sounds like a design flaw for everyone to experience it. Doesnt bother me though!

I have a Cervini hood too and no shake until 130 MPH....adj the stops and it helped but did not solve it totally (over 130 MPH)..... I don't like when fiberglass shakes...I worry about the expensive paint job.

The giant scoops in my hood beg to shake the hood. But it doesn't shake. The car is only 6 months old. Am I lucky or just too young?

As another new owner of an S197, I too shared your concern. I noticed the shaking at around 90MPH on my way home from the dealer. After several hours of internet research, I figure it is a "normal" thing due to the design of the front end and hood.

I think we all have shaker hoods.

Guys & Gal's "Adjust your hood stops" There are 4 of them and the twist up & down and are rubber. You "must" adjust these to stop this problem. I've done this on 3 S197's that all had this problem and it corrected it. You will know when its right when you close your hood and it has no play in it at all. This will also level out your hood with your fenders "if" you see that it is not and will help aline the front hood edge with the fender edge.

What hood is best to fix this issue? Any hood pins that are recommended?

Also, here is the list that I am bringing to the ford dealer to get fixed (some I know how to fix, but I just got the car):

1) Hood shaking at speeds greater than 50 MPH (more or less).
Summary: When driving on the highway, the hood shakes on the driver’s side of the car. One time the latch failed and caused the hood to pop up when going around 62 or so.

2) Wiper fluid nozzle leaks
Summary: Once they have been used, the drivers side nozzle keeps on leaking fluid onto the hood for a few seconds after then stops.

3) Parking brake is loose
Summary: PB is loose and can go up and down very easily (too much play).

4) Tail lamp leaks
Summary: When checking out the car initially (when I received it), I notice there was water in the trunk area and droplets of water next to the lamp assembly.

5) Shifting between 1-2, and 2-3
Summary: When its cold I feel the shifting is very “crunchy” when shifting between N-1, 1-2, and 2-3. Could this be related to TSB-08-9-2?

6) Drivers side rubber stop (next to mirror)
Summary: When checking out the car initially (when I received it), I notice there was a gap in the rubber stop next to the mirror. Turns out I get some wind noise from that area at speeds.

7) Displays only one character on MP3 mode in Shaker500 HU
Summary: Upon playing MP3s in the HU, I go to text (so I can see the artist/song). It only shows the first character for the song/artist/album.

8) Paint chip
Summary: Next to the spoiler on the passenger side, there is a paint chip down to the metal.

9) Adhesive on steering wheel
Summary: On the left top side of the silver portion of the steering wheel there seems to be adhesive still left from when a sticker was on there. It was sticky before, but after touching it a few times, its not any longer.

10) Water in the passenger side
Summary: When it was snowing and the roads were watery, I notice the passenger side was a bit damp (no passengers). Could this be related to TSB-07-14-6 in anyway?

I agree and it could, but when one side is tight (no play), and the other has a bunch of play (with adjusting) then I know something else is wrong (at least I think so).

Ok, you have to adjust it for both sides at once. This is going to take you some time to do because you will have to keep going up & down on each one of the 4 stops to get it right. From the sound of it your hood has some other issues as well. I want you to go look at your hood and what I want you to look for is this: 1. Make sure the hood is level with the fenders all the way around. The edge of the hood should be level with the fenders on both sides and with the cowl. If it dips up at the top/cowl area it will need to be shimed to raise it up. 2. Insure you have all your hood bump stops. You should have 6 total, the 4 at the front that adjust and two on the fenders that do not adjust.

LOL!

Luckily these came with pretty decent instructions so the steps are all laid out. The thing they call for I don't have is a 90 degree drill (I think that's what they called it). I do really want to install them.
