Not sure what's wrong with mine but when I pull the hood release inside the cabin the hood does not pop up. I usually end up having to pull up on it to get it to pop free.

1) Hood shaking at speeds greater than 50 MPH (more or less).
Summary: When driving on the highway, the hood shakes on the driver’s side of the car. One time the latch failed and caused the hood to pop up when going around 62 or so.

Close the hood fully and get hood pins.

2) Wiper fluid nozzle leaks
Summary: Once they have been used, the drivers side nozzle keeps on leaking fluid onto the hood for a few seconds after then stops.

Normal Operation. Install a ball loaded check valve to correct this
or mount the squirters on the wiper blade arms.

3) Parking brake is loose
Summary: PB is loose and can go up and down very easily (too much play).

Adjust it.

4) Tail lamp leaks
Summary: When checking out the car initially (when I received it), I notice there was water in the trunk area and droplets of water next to the lamp assembly.

Bad news.

5) Shifting between 1-2, and 2-3
Summary: When its cold I feel the shifting is very “crunchy” when shifting between N-1, 1-2, and 2-3. Could this be related to TSB-08-9-2?

Doubt it. Its a $20-$30K crunchy when cold gear box kind of car.

6) Drivers side rubber stop (next to mirror)
Summary: When checking out the car initially (when I received it), I notice there was a gap in the rubber stop next to the mirror. Turns out I get some wind noise from that area at speeds.

New weaterstripping/door gasket?

7) Displays only one character on MP3 mode in Shaker500 HU
Summary: Upon playing MP3s in the HU, I go to text (so I can see the artist/song). It only shows the first character for the song/artist/album.

The Shaker sucks and will break soon enough if it does not
drain your battery a few times before it does. You will be replacing
that with aftermarket stereo gear soon enough.

8) Paint chip
Summary: Next to the spoiler on the passenger side, there is a paint chip down to the metal.

Thats what touch-up paint is for. They will not repaint the vehicle
because of a single paint chip.

9) Adhesive on steering wheel
Summary: On the left top side of the silver portion of the steering wheel there seems to be adhesive still left from when a sticker was on there. It was sticky before, but after touching it a few times, its not any longer.

Goof-Off or Goo-Gone will remove it without damaging the underlying surface.

10) Water in the passenger side
Summary: When it was snowing and the roads were watery, I notice the passenger side was a bit damp (no passengers). Could this be related to TSB-07-14-6 in anyway?

Yes it can be and is the dreaded
underdash water dispenser option
that most of us got but didnt order.

Did they slap a dealer sticker on it as well?
I asked what the dealer monthly advertising
allowance was for the sticker advertising their
busisness on the rear of my stang. They promptly
removed it.

HA ok DB I love the advertising bit! I agree they shouldnt just put a sticker on our cars. I just take it right away to the car wash and pressure wash that **** off

They did, but I asked them to remove it or else I won't get the car :P

I actually kind of feel bad about calling Ford on this guy now, I mean I didn't want to, but he just annoyed the crap out of me sooo much that I just had to do something.

In short I just miss my Mustang and I just want it back. Sure the Escape is a great car, but its nothing like the Mustang

Results are in...

1) Hood shaking at speeds greater than 50 MPH (more or less).
Summary: When driving on the highway, the hood shakes on the driver’s side of the car. One time the latch failed and caused the hood to pop up when going around 62 or so.

Dealership lowered the latch and adjusted the rubber stops - issue still unresolved - getting pins.

2) Wiper fluid nozzle leaks
Summary: Once they have been used, the drivers side nozzle keeps on leaking fluid onto the hood for a few seconds after then stops.

Normal Operation.

3) Parking brake is loose
Summary: PB is loose and can go up and down very easily (too much play).

Dealership adjusted it and its its a 100% better.

4) Tail lamp leaks
Summary: When checking out the car initially (when I received it), I notice there was water in the trunk area and droplets of water next to the lamp assembly.

Nothing could be found at this time.

5) Shifting between 1-2, and 2-3
Summary: When its cold I feel the shifting is very “crunchy” when shifting between N-1, 1-2, and 2-3. Could this be related to TSB-08-9-2?

Normal Operation.

6) Drivers side rubber stop (next to mirror)
Summary: When checking out the car initially (when I received it), I notice there was a gap in the rubber stop next to the mirror. Turns out I get some wind noise from that area at speeds.

Normal Operation (or so they say).

7) Displays only one character on MP3 mode in Shaker500 HU
Summary: Upon playing MP3s in the HU, I go to text (so I can see the artist/song). It only shows the first character for the song/artist/album.

Normal Operation - has to do with the MP3s on the CD...go figure.

8) Paint chip
Summary: Next to the spoiler on the passenger side, there is a paint chip down to the metal.

They used Touch-up paint on the area.

9) Adhesive on steering wheel
Summary: On the left top side of the silver portion of the steering wheel there seems to be adhesive still left from when a sticker was on there. It was sticky before, but after touching it a few times, its not any longer.

Dealership fixed that issue.

10) Water in the passenger side
Summary: When it was snowing and the roads were watery, I notice the passenger side was a bit damp (no passengers). Could this be related to TSB-07-14-6 in anyway?

Nothing could be found at this time.

ha ha typical.. what did they actually do???
adjust park brake.. 2 minutes with a 10 mm deep socket
paint chip fill... 2 minutes
Deny the TSB as obviously they dont need the work to replace some syncros...
deny everything else well some are kinda iffy but others are valid

Either way I would bring it back in for the trans to another stealership

I have a long warranty on this car, although its crap, I am still covered up to 100,000 miles. So I will play it out and see what happens. I rather get a newer trans later on anyway :P

Hey, do you have the Suncoast hood? I just got that hood and should be painted next week. The one in your sig looks very close to it.
