Alright that is the Kenwood dnx5120. I absolutely love it. I ran the ipod wire underneath the cupholders and just leave it hooked up and play it whenever in the car. I got it for 600 on ebay but probably spent another $75 in accessories and tools to install it. The led change is very tedious. If you are the type that gets frustrated quickly probably not the project for you. It took me awhile to do because I had never soldered anything before. Now that I can solder I think I could change all the lights out in 3 hours. The writeup makes the leds look huge compared to what their actual size is. Also took me awhile because I would go out and check each light to see if it worked instead of doing all of them at once.

exactly eddy, when I started getting frustrated I would go to my computer and look at pics of others that have done it and remember of how sweet it was going to look in the end and trust me it was well worth it. I showed my step dad who has an 05 what I did and he was like all the leds don't change when you switch it on the mycolor? I was like wow way to try to diminish all the work I did haha

these are the leds I used:
http://www.oznium.com/plcc-2

If you look at that writeup you can see that the 7 leds in the doors(4 lock buttons, 3 window switches) are a different type but I would recommend just using the plcc2's on those too bc the other types are tough to solder on there.

Excellent work
definitely something I'm looking to do when I get some free time, now that I've got red MyColor, and red Nexus gauges, I'd love to swap out to red LEDs, and I was planning on doing a headunit swap like this too, so I'd save alot of time not swapping like 20+ LEDs on the stock headunit

Yea do them both at the same time saves all the trouble of tearing apart the car twice and it does save other LEDs from having to be changed. Make sure get a headunit that changes to red though because if its another color it would look funny.
