I have Boston's. They drop right in except I had to bend the bottom mounting tap up since our cars don't use it. You can splice into the factory speaker wires or purchase an adapter

Anyone big into care audio will tell you to get an amp for your speakers.
I have some infinity 6x9s in my accord and they sound great off my pioneer head unit with no amp, but you would have to do some cutting to fit them in your doors.

Couldn't you run lines from an amp located somewhere else?

See how that tickels you and go from there

im in a vert and the i used dynamatt extreme in the doors and most of the floors... also the car has TRIPPLE layer of undercoating... from the sponsor.... (hes good to me) anyways the oem 500 sounds very good to me. crack the windows or drop the top and it sounds actually better then my $2500 system in my 04... yeah the mids and highs are off a bit but generally its really good. and it doesnt scream BREAK INTO ME A STEAL ME

Thanks guys. So I just bought a Alpine Deck, two 12 inch Infinity Subs and an Alpine amp. Does anyone have any good suggestions about what to build my box out of and where to put it. Looking for a custom look. And I think i can wire up the amp to the subs and stuff but might have a hard time with the deck. Anyone have any good directions or link to an existing thread on how to do this?

mdf for boxes..
i would go no smaller then 3/4 and be sure to glue up all edges.. also there are other tricks but i dunno.. you gotta build the box first

Yeah i am for sure gonna go with MDF and thinking just wood glue and silicon to seal it up. Would just some simply cut 2X4's work ok for reinforcement? I think i decided to build a ported box. I plan on using the Infinity suggested volume along with the length and diameter of the port. I heard PVC would work fine for the port, anyone know about that? Has anyone built a ported box themselves and if so how did you design it? What was your shape and positioning of the sub and port? I'm going to try and put my subs where the spare tire would go.

it will mess with the box dimensions if you put it there.
the most important thing is tofollow the speakers reccomended specs to a T
the box can make or brake the sub. If its not done right it would sound like crap.
pvc will work for a port.
point the sub and port to the rear of the car or the opposit side of the trunk
find the spec for how far the port goes in and diameter of the port.
no need for 2x4s if your concerened about strength go with a 1inch mdf

what if I built an oddly shaped box that fits where the spare was with the recommended volume? I have a design in mind and luckily there actually is enough space there....just enough haha. And i also hear it would help if i had them tilted to slightly face each other. Is that true?
