I would powdercoat them black. Chrome or silver dont do it for me in that style, but if I get my hands on a set in black, Ill grab them since I have a brand new set of Dunlop Spoert Maxx in the size tires you mentioned just sitting around in the back of my warehouse.

Rear wheels: 10X20, offset 45mm, 275/40/20
Yea, get a new set of gears that start with a 4, cause those big heavy wheels/tires are gonna slow your car down a bit if you're still running the stock gears.

Is this absolutely necessary or will it damage something otherwise?

It looks like new gears will cost me up to $200, let me know if this is optional?

Can you please offer any suggestions, links?
