To GT or not GT, that is the question.
Hey everyone, I currently have a 2007 V6 grabber orange mustang. I recently made the decision that I should drop some cash on some mods. (New rims, CAI and tune, Dash, Etc.) Then I started thinking, should I just upgrade to a 07 Grabber Orange GT? I honestly don't make that much money and if I did decide to trade my car in my loan payments would go up about a hundred bucks a month and it would really strain my finances. Should I do it? Or should I take the extra eight grand I'd be spending on the GT over the next few years and just use that money to mod my V6?

Now is a great time to buy a new car ... but a lousy time to sell one. I don't know what you paid for your car but if you bought it new you will be taking a serious loss on the sale of the V6. I think the market for used V6's have really tanked since I have seen really nice used GT's in the $15K to 18K range on my local Craigslist. I've seen a couple of V6's for under $10K ... I guess they really want to get rid of them ...

Oh man think of what you could do with 8k . I wouldn't sell it . I would save it or put some of it into it . If its performance you want 8k will buy it. But if you think that you will still want a Gt later I would not put it into it the v6 because you will just loose that money in the sell of your v6 .

Totally agree with Thuxel on this one. I have had the pleasure of owning both an 05 V6 and now my 06 GT, so I think I can give some insight into it.
These cars are nice but imagine how tight your finances would be if gas went back up to $4+ per gallon. Fuel prices have dropped along with our economy, but speculators are seeing to it that our gas prices won't stay cheap (greedy idiots). Not to mention there are some interesting changes coming for the Mustang within a couple of years (supposedly finally getting version of the 5.0).
I'm not saying you wouldn't enjoy a GT vs. a v6, but nothing kills the enjoyment faster than owning your dream car....and not being able to afford it.
