Default Airbag Light?

ok so after i installed my headers, but before i messed with any retuning i noticed when i started the car my airbag light was on under the tach. i really didnt think too much about it, and before i installed the new tune i unhooked the battery for a few minutes just to clear any codes that may have been thrown for whatever reason. i installed the new tune and started the car, and the airbag light is still on.

any ideas?

You probably need a new airbag!!
Take it to the dealer and they will let you know which one is malfunctioning!!
Had to replace one on mine and that light would really get on my nerves!!

Have you had the passenger side airbag recall done yet? Might be something to do with that... Take it in.

wasn't aware there was a recall, and it seems strange that it just appeared after i put my headers in. is there any airbag sensors under the car in the front where maybe something got unplugged while i was jacking the motor up a little or trying to reach my damn hands up around things to get to bolts?

You didnt happen to turn the steering wheel when you had the steering shaft disconnected did you?If you did,you need a new clockspring, they are easy to put in though.

wtf.. mine does it too. But it's the little light that flashes next to the TCS on/off button.

If the airbag light is flashing next to the TC,you may need your passenger seat recalibrated.Basicly,it measures the weight of the passenenger and if its under say,40LBS,the RCM figures that a child may be sitting in that seat and will not deploy the airbag during a crash,it can also use weight and seat position to calculate how fast to deploy the bag,the force of deployment etc.Take it to the dealer,it should only take(the tech)under 5 min,but you will most likely sit there for an hr.
