Wish List
Well, the Robot Lady says my baby's been released as of June 8th. Guess now's the time to start figuring out my mod list and in what order. This is the first car I'll have owned that makes me care enough to buy anything special for it, so I figure the great people on these boards might be able to help me out and keep me from doing anything completely dumb, not to mention finding some of this stuff! I know several of these things have been covered in other threads (no warantee questions, though
), but hopefully more people have had a chance to find and try some things more recently and will have more current info. Sorry if I beat any dead horses!
OK, here are my plans, in the approximate order that they will get done (listed in blocks that will probably done at the same time). I have some questions that I'd love answers to, but please comment on anything you see.
1. California Car Duster - Any other stuff I should have to keep her lookin' good?
1. Locking gas cap - is anyone using one of these? I'd like to have one that I know will work waiting when I get the car.
1. Magnetic oil drain plug - Where can I find one of these that will fit the '05 Mustang?
1. Tint
1. Shorty Antenna
1. Radar/Laser Detector
2. Car Cover - Hope to find something that will protect her in the uncovered lot at work when we're threatened with hail...
2. Chase Tail Lights
2. SLP Power-Flo Axleback - Once I heard don_w's I knew I couldn't resist! One question, should I wait until after Break-In or does it matter?
3. DiabloSport Predator - Should I wait until after Break-In to use the Predator?
3. CAI - I'm leaning toward JLT. Does anyone know if there's a Predator Tune out for them? Might go with Steeda, though (does it come with a MAF sensor upgrade?). Also, I'm guessing that waiting until after Break-In would be advisable?
4. Body Kit
4. Wheels and Tires
4. Stripes (painted, white)
5. Supercharger - On Birdieman's advice, it'll be the Salleen, most likely
5.5 Smaller pulley for the S/C
6 and up:
Saleen HID Headlights
Headers
Full Exhaust
G-Tech
Numbers 1 through 3 will probably be bought together. Am I missing anything? Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Boy am I excited![sm=happy046.gif]

First of all... CONGRATS!!!! You will enjoy this ride!! Here are a couple comments:
1. Along with the car duster, get a supply of various cleaning supplies (I use Megiuars, but Mothers and others are good). Don't forget stuff for the wheels/tires, too. Even if you don't do your own washing, I highly recommend Meguiars Mist Detailer (and some good, soft terry cloth towels)... great for spot touchups (fingerprints, water spots, bird plop, etc.). I would also look at hood struts to replace that prop rod as one of the first mods. They are simple to install, look good, and a helluva lot safer.
2. I don't think you would need to wait for an axle-back exhaust.
3. Don't rule out the C&L CAI... check it out along with the others you mentioned.
5. Although it may not matter too much, I plan on adding headers when the SC goes on. That's probably when you would need them the most... to help that huffer breathe.
Oh... have you considered a change in rear gears and/or a dash kit? They're not for everyone, but I thought I would mention them.
Good luck and happy shopping!

U didn't say but if you're getting Premium you'll need something to help clean the leather interior. I got Meguir's Quik Interior Detailer mist and wipe. You should try one of this forums sponsors- AutoGeek. That's where I got my Calif Duster too, and they have waterless Auto Wash, mists, etc. Oh, and the big thing is microfiber towels. Get 'em if you can afford 'em.
Be sure to let your Calif Duster sit out on some newspaper for 2 days, as instructed. Mine is on its second day and there are spots on the paper from the excess parrafin wax that coats the duster.
2.
You might want a mustang license plate frame. Ket me know if you find any! I won one on Ebay and the guy then tells me he had none in stock!
You can get a regular car cover with the Mustang logo for about $150 but if you have hail, you would want something better and more expensive. You might want to wait until you get your body kit installed. If you have something like the Steeda Front Splitter your cover might not fit. I think they said that on the Steeda site.
Nothing more, but feel free to let us know your progress and if your suppliers have anymore in stock. I've had to physically call each site to confirm if they have parts in stock and many DON'T! They aren't really updating their websites too well.

Hail? I don't know if they make a cover that would protect against hail.... Wrap her in bubble wrap!
The best defense is a cheap second vehicle to drive if there is ANY threat of really bad weather.

don_w, Orion, and Wldstng thanks for the replies.
Wow, I've just been over to AutoGeek and my brain is melting from all of the detailing possibilities! So far I can't find Meguiars Mist Detailer, but saw some other things that might work. Is the Meguiar’s NXT Generation Speed Detailer similar? Arg...too busy adding stuff to my cart to think about much else right now. I'll post again with a list of what I've selected.

Wally World (Wal-Mart) also carries Meguiars products and many more and they are usually cheaper.
BUT, don't buy their cheap micro-fiber rags... find some good, quality micro-fiber. Pay more for the quality ones at
Pep Boys, Autozone, O'Reiley..wherever.
Also, when using the duster... just barely touch the paint - just enough to grab the dust. NEVER put pressure on it!

I just dropped by the local PepBoys (or Kragen or Auto Zone or whatever) and picked all the stuff up. Most of them carry Meguiars, et al.
I may be mistaken, but I thing if you are going to install the Saleen SC, you will need to keep the stock pulleys. I think I read somewhere that the Saleen super charger is made for the regular pulleys that come on the car.
