Can you get a stick shift rental car in the US? The last time I saw one of those was in England about 9 years ago.

I learned how to drive one when I was 16. All i remember was I was so scared to mess it up, but after I got the "have fun, its only a car" it took a whole 5 minutes to get on the road....

But i stalled out atleast 10 times, but i was scared of giving it too much gas and making the tires spin.

oh the good old days haha

Good luck finding a stick shift rental car. Just use an open lot and a LOT of patience.

Talking

don't be too protective of the car and be prepared to sacrifice some clutch life... arguing with her about "what's more important to you - me or the car" may get you in trouble...

Dont worry too much about it. Do it all the time . Big parking lot is all i got to say. try and get one without big light polls or anything. They tend to not look were they are going.
