Default Slowly getting there...new best

Well I am slowly getting there. I want so badly to be a 12 second car. I don't think I can describe how badly I want to be a 12 second car. But I am slowly knocking off tenths.

R/T.....0.432
60'......2.009
330'.....5.761
1/8......8.788 @ 81.83
1000....11.369
1/4......13.559 @ 103.31

I had one launch that I think was probably 13.3, or 13.4 worthy...The rear just dug right down, just like it is supposed to. Well I have conditioned myself that usually when I get a nice hard launch like that, that the tires usually break loose, but I think this time they were actually going to stick, but it was too late, I had already committed to backing out a little. I still knocked of a 13.61. However, if I had been bracket racing, I think I might have done pretty well. All of my times with the exception of the 13.559 were 13.6xx...That is really damn consistent for me, but my R/Ts were not as good as they usually are, I was really trying of focus on the launches.

Anyway, I am still on my quest to be a 12 second car. I would have thought the 4.10s would have helped a little more, but they are making me work more at the line. So I continue...I know some D/Rs would be helpful, but I am really shooting for 12s w/ street tires (although those could use a huge bump from the stock Pirelli's).

I would just get some DR's and some takeoff rims and call it a 12 second day with a 5,000rpm launch... how bad do you want it

It will not stop with your 12 second quest I know because I was where you are at now. I reached 12.81 with bolt on's now I am waiting for the track to open in March to see where the Procharger will take me. Not sure what Mods you have other than the 4:10's but just DR's by themself will most likely not get you there.

Regardless if the dyno says you make 1000 hp, trap speed is a much better indicator of how strong your car runs. What kind of trap speeds do you get consistently? A 103.31 mph is going to take a great launch to get into the 12s, a launch that you prob can't get on street tires. You are going to need some more mph.

As far as mods go, I have the following:

C&l intake w/ tune
Uds
4.10s
Springs, shocks, lcas, rear away, and panhard

As far as elevation, the track is at 1243 feet, in phoenix.

At sea level they are, he is 1200+ above sea level, not to mention hot temps in arizona. This is why dyno rwhp can't always tell you how you will do at your track, the dyno numbers are corrected for elevation and temp, your timeslips aren't. I'm going to say you will need at least a 106 mph trap speed to pull off a 12 second run on street tires. Shoot, I did 12.87 at almost 107 mph and that was on a 1.819 short time on stock tires. Its going to be very difficult to pull a 60' much faster than that with street tires. To do 12s at 103ish mph would take a nasty, nasty 60' time. You are going to have to add some more power, or get some very good tires, or go to a different track at less altitude to pull that 12 second slip.

What is your best mph?
