Default Can my cloth seats be romoved for cleaning?

The cleaner ive tried on them didnt take out some of the stains, so i was wondering, can the clotch part come off? Im not sure how its attached but could i take it off, throw it in the washer, and put it back on? Or if its not easily removable, is there a way to take it off and sew in like a zipper or something so i can wash it every now and then?

Also is adding a little black dye a bad idea? i dont know if it iwll mess up the little ponies on the seat of not.

You could always get some take off GT leather and just recover your seats in leather instead. My freind just did this to his seats and it came out very nice.

Before you go to that trouble, have you tried a few other products? I have 2 or 3 commercially available upholstery cleaners that have taken out whatever my kids and pets could throw at them. If not, then find a good detail joint and see what they think.

Washing the cloth is a bad idea (assuming you COULD get it out) since it would likely shrink and then you're hosed.

BTW, what the heck have you been doing in your Stang that they're that bad? I shudder to think...

Heck, if I even get plain ol water on my grey cloth seats,
a stain appears out of nowhere. Plain ol water, mind you.
You must then get the whole seat wet so the 'water stain'
will blend it. I would be scared to try any commercially available
cleaner except for the one recommended by Ford.

Here is how to remove and reinstall them.

Why dye them? What color are they now? Grey or black?
You can get new OEM black cloth seatcovers off eBay
for a low bid amount and the price of shipping.
I got a complete set, front, back and headrests
in black for $5 + $30 S/H off of the bay.
I originally had to get the grey with my stang when purchased.
Got the black covers because the opening $5 bid I placed was not outbid.
Congratulations, you have won.....

The problems you are having with the cloth seats is the exact same reason I recovered mine with custom leather. That cloth is the worst! Mine did the exact same thing mentioned above, I would get a little water on them and it would stain. You would have to wet the entire seat to blend it in. It was a heck of a lot more work than it was worth. I would take this oppurtunity to upgrade to leather at this time. You will be a lot happier in the long run!!

I have gray cloth as well and yep, anything that touches the seats practically stains them...I've tried Turtle Wax Interior1 Upholstery cleaner and NOTHING! If anything it added to the mess =(

It's hard for me to find any seat/ seatcovers that'll match my interior.

Try these neoprene ones from moss muscle.

I am just gonna get my greys dirty and replace them with the blacks
when it comes time to hand her off to another owner.
