Kenwood DDX7019 Subwoofer Problem
Hey guys, I just installed a Kenwood DDX7019 in my 06, replacing the Shaker 500. I bought it from someone else on the forum that had it installed in his S197 (also replacing the Shaker 500).
So I got it all hooked up and running, but there is no sound coming from the subwoofers in the doors. There were RCA plugs wired into the wiring harness and I plugged those into the Subwoofer lines coming out of the stereo, but no dice. I've fooled with all the settings on the setup screens, but I still get no sound.
Has anyone replaced their Shaker 500 with this unit? Any ideas on what I did wrong? Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

Start here and trace all your wiring.
Or PM the previous owner and have him troubleshoot it.
What 'wiring harness' were the RCA plugs on?
OEM harness?
Seller supplied custom harness?
Kenwood harness?

I'm not 100% sure on this but I believe the subs are fed separately from the shaker head. There is a 3rd plug on the shaker head that has the sub outputs and the satellite antenna in it. I have the same issue on mine. I am going to check it out and place a tone on the wires of the third plug to see if this indeed is what is going on. I will re-post here after I find out.

That was my thought too, jerjan. The harness I got spliced the wires from the head unit to the fored OEM plugs, so the system could just plug in. But there were only 2 plugs, the third didn't get used. I told myself it was just for the speedvolume and headlights on inputs, but the more I think about it, the more I think it might have been for the subs too. Let me know what you find. I may poke around some more tomorrow too.

Solution! They musth have changed the wiring of the Shaker 500 from 06 to 07. The wire on my harness that was supposed to supply power to the amplefier, was going to a pin on the OEM plug that had nothing hooked up to it. Luckily there were two power lines on my harness, so I just hooked the other one up to it and Eureka! Now that I've got the subs working, I've got another problem... I get a pop on the subwoofers everytime I start up the car.
When I was researching my initial problem, I ran across something that said that beacuse most head units put out a 12V signal and for some reason Ford wants a 5V signal, the pop happens. Now I know there's a simple component I can get at Radio Shack that will fix it. I just don't know what that component is and where I hook it up to. Any help on this?

Also, I think the crutchfield harness is meant for use with either the shaker 500 or 1000. As such, I believe that only one side of the harness is meant for the power supply for the 500 replacement. I am looking into this same issue right now. I have both remote turn ons wired together, and both RCA pins plugged into the back of my Alpine, but the door subs are not working....
Did you plug in both RCA pins, or one.....
