Default Hurst install questions

I am a new owner of a Hurst STS and I'm doing my due diligence by reading up on the install instructions... install is weather pending around here........

First question. I bought the blue threadlock, is that the correct kind? Autozone was too busy and the guy at the counter didn't really want to give me the time of day.

Second question. Which bolt(s) am I supposed to use it on, all or just the shift linkage bolt?

Third question, I have the shifter out of the box and just move the shifter bolt and it makes kind of a squeeking noise as I move it around, is that normal?

Alright, last one... For some reason I thought I read a long about people using dynomat sound proofing stuff during installation. Autozone doesn't sell it and none of the instructions I've read mention it. Does anybody suggest to do that or not?

Im not sure about the V6 with the dynomat but I believe Best Buy sells some. I didnt use locktite or anything. Mine was used for 1000 miles but it might take a few miles for it to get rid of the squeeking.. Just use the stock bolts Im pretty sure thats what I did. My friend did most of the work since he's done them before...

I did this in the drive with the car on ramps, it was tight, but I did it. It's actually pretty easy if you can work around the driveshaft no problem. I was actually surprised how easy it was.

All this info is based on a GT but I can't imagine anything is really different about it. Pictures I've seen of v6s and GT Hursts look the same.
1. Yes blue loctite is what you want.
2. You would want to use it in two spots, the shift linkage coming off the tranny to the bottom of the shifter arm and the nuts/allen bolts that attact the arm.
3. Mine made some noise too. Under load it doesn't seem to be an issue.
4. I didn't use any dynamat and I don't think it's really needed. Other then running my car into the upper rpm range the shifter doesn't make any more noise then stock.

I didn't use dynamat either, and I didn't notice any more noise. I can't remember what I used loctite on, but I did use it. Hope that helps.

yes use blue locktight red is too strong
dynamatt is great and highly recomended, I had the hurst and upgraded to the pro 5.0 but i hope you enjoy the hurst
As far as where to use the locktight If i were u i would use a dab everywere but a lot on the connection to the chrome arm (alot is a full bead across all the tread. about a 1/8 inch wide along all the threads. all the other bolts just give it a dab

dynamatt will deaden road noise and keep the in car sounds in(stereo) and outa car sounds out (road noise) So far i have floor (console double wrap) and doors done, I will have the entire car done at some point
the install is fairly straight forward and yes the shifter makes some noise, hopefully you dont get that under normal use.
The hurst is basically a shortened OEM shifter so it shouldnt cause too much greif. Just be sure to use the locktight on the bolts to keep then from backing off.
also the knured side of the shifting mechanisim... (the shifter side goes towards the drivers seat. so the chrome arm knurled side goes towards the passenger side. (save you the time i wasted having to rotate the darn thing half way through
good luck on the install and let me know if you got questions, feel free to pm
