Crap! I was just about to decide to order 'em......then I realized that I'm going to get the 3dCarbon hood when it comes out and it's supposed to be fiberglass, grrr..... Anyone have insight on if these things would work with a fiberglass hood? Don't want to get 'em and then have to toss 'em aside later.
Here what's on web site.

Well, after all that info about the aftermarket hoods....I just placed my order. Has anyone tried to get the struts and brackets painted? I was thinking about doing mine in white to match the stripes I'm going to get.

No... they look perfect black. Plus, it's basically a piston... not sure you would want to paint the smaller rod that goes inside the larger barrel.

I ponied up for the Elite version. Don't plan on having much other stainless/chrome other than what comes with the car. I'll have 2 nice big white stripes painted down the whole thing. That's why I was thinking about trying to paint 'em white. Plus it would probably be a good idea to only paint the big barrel as I don't want to screw up the workings and that might look funky with only one part panted.... Thoughts?

Yeah. I'll have to see what they look like when I get them, but I'm thinking that they should look just fine as-is. Bright shiny metal and white should be peachy together, plus this way there's no extra complications. Heh.
