This happened to mine at about 2 years old. They were all replaced under warranty so I don't know what it cost. I also had airbag cover replaced due to crackling on the emblem which is crackling again.

Occasionally I use a windshield shade but not always, just on the very hottest of days. Where I park it at work it's at such an incline that the sun never hits the gauge cluster at all (because of the dash overhang). It does hit the vents, but the cluster is much worse. I'm thinking is has more to due with poor bonding during the manufacturing process.

I'm not a big fan of the carbon fiber replacement cluster (because the rest of the dash won't match), but it will look better than cheap flaky bubbled up plastic.

Maybe someone will make aftermarket replacements in a couple years when everyone elses ruined too. =(
