Default Dashboard Chrome Bubbling

Has anyone else noticed this yet on your Mustang. I just saw it at lunch and now I am really annoyed. The chrome between the two large gauges is bubbling up pretty badly, so I started looking at the ones around the vents and a couple of them are starting to show signs also. The car is 3 1/2 years old so now it's out of warranty so I guess I'm just out of luck. That's going to look really great in about a year when it's all bubbled up. I'll post a pic later. Grrrr.

Hard to take a pic of it, but just look for the distortion. Looks worse in person.

Even with the heat of the California sun, I haven't seen any signs of this...Another thing to worry about

Unhappy Treatment

The worse part is that it's never been exposed to any kinds of extreme heat or anything. I drive it every weekday, always keep a window cracked on hot days and have never used a chemical cleaner on it. All I use is a cotton cloth to wipe it down and that is enough to keep it clean. The hottest it's gotten here is maybe 102, coldest about 0. (St Louis, MO area)

I don't even think there is an aftermarket part to cover this problem yet. Knowing my luck I'm "patient zero". And mine is one of the last 05's!

Weird you should mention this as I just noticed the exact same thing when I was in the drive-thru a few days ago. I still have 6 months or 16K left of my bumper to bumper warranty on my 06 so I'll be heading to the dealership tomorrow.

After reading this I have a quick question...

...who does the QA on Ford parts?

Do you have a windshield cover to keep the sun off of your dashboard? I checked mine and it's fine. My car has to sit outside but I keep a windshield/dashboard cover as well as a car cover on my car when I'm not driving it.

I haven't seen any bubbling on mine yet but I'm going to keep an eye on it now, Here's an option to fix the problem though...

I have never seen it happen on the trim piece on the dash before, but have seen it many times on other cars(not ford) Should try taking it back to the dealer and see what they say! can't hurt to try!
