Bamachips or brenspeed for mail-order hot rod cam tune? Why?

Brenspeed is known for the better customer service of the two, but Doug is good too.

When I was trying to get a mail order tune for my Hot Rods people told me that Brenspeed doesn't do them...only Comp cams. I'm not sure if that has changed or not but when I heard that I tried Bamachips. I gotta say don't even waste your time or money. I emailed Doug before I ordered a tune asking if he'd be able to get rid of my idle surging. He told me he to order a tune and he'd send it out and that if it wasn't quite right to email him back and he'll try again. He said he could do it after a few tries.

So I went with it and he tried a few times going back and fourth with me. After sending me a third tune that still wasn't right I emailed him to let him know and he never replied. I didn't bother to keep trying to get a response from him so I gave up and had it tuned by a shop locally. The guy data logs and tunes that way and got it running almost perfect. He just had a dyno put in so he's gonna finish fixing it for free.

Sorry for the long story but Doug kind of rubbed me the wrong way by cutting me off when he was working with me great at first. He was great about fast replies and trying to help at first but just gave up and didn't say anymore when he got tired of trying.

So all in all I say avoid the hassle of mail order tunes for cams and find a dyno tuner or someone locally to work with

Well I've already emailed Doug a few times in the past few days with no responses asking general questions about his hot rod tunes. Went ahead and ordered through brenspeed. If the tune doesn't work, the shop installing has a mustang chassis dyno. Hoping not to have to drop 4-600 on a dyno tune
