Default welded Exhaust

How much would it cost for a muffler shop to weld all the parts of my exhaust where the x pipe meets the mid pipe and the mufflers meet the mid pipe. Also, does anyone have this done.

Well that really depends on where you live and how much they wanna charge. My local shop is very reasonable on welding costs. Something like that may cost $30-50 bucks here, don't know if that's high or not, but again it's just a guess.

thats cool, im just lookin for a ballpark figure so i can decide even if its worth it. Did they just do tack welds, or a stack of dimes all the way around the piping.

I would say $45. Always a good idea!

what are the advantages of having a welded on exhaust compared to just bolted on?

True welded will be stronger and better. But if you need to remove anything, or want to replace the mufflers, then you're SOL. I prefer to weld where it makes sense, leaving large sections that can be removed as needed. Of course proper clamping and sealing is absolutely important.

Most shops should be able to do it for so much per joint.

I think just tack weld. Don't pay over $50 IMO.
