If the plates on your battery are badly sulfated, driving for two hours at a minimum of 1500 rpm is not going to do much. What you could try is to have the battery charged professionally with a pulse charger. This may get rid of a good portion of the sulfation on the plates and restore capacity to the battery. The chargers that are sold to non-professionals generally don't have the capacity to do this. You're not likely to find a professional grade charger at your local parts store.

Generally, absorbed glass mat (AGM) batteries provide better performance than the traditional flooded batteries. Optima uses AGM technology, and I think some Die Hard batteries, as well as others, also use that technology.

A decent battery tender usually works well to maintain a battery that is in good condition, but it does little to restore a bad battery.

WOW... thank you... I just bought my car last summer, drove it til early oct.. stored it away, now... i am learning new things about these cars. How amazing.. Didn't realize how tempermental they are.. Im wondering if they are going to get all the wrinkles ironed out of these cars in years to come... they sure are a sharp lookin machine though.

I was told that if your battery was drained , like mine, that it would be a good idea to replace it... but, then , come winter when they go into hybernation... put the battery tender on them so they don't drain the new bat...
