A Mustang magazine tested various axlebacks. Of the axlebacks tested, JBAs were the loudest, but in person they are not overly loud. The article stated although it was the loudest, the sound was mild.

Has anyone tried the SSS exhaust, street legal version, that Cruizin Concepts carries? I have sent numerous PM's to them, with absolutely no reply. Business must be very good on wheels, and they don't need any business on exhaust I guess....

Anyway, anyone try em? I have the GTB's on, but will never be able to duplicate the Bullitt's exhaust, due to the H pipe, and I sure as hell am not paying what Ford wants for one......

Does anyone know if the California Special has the same exhaust as a standard GT? For some reason I feel my friends CS is deeper sounding than my GT.

Any thoughts?
Why do you have an issue with drone? Fisrt you drive a stick, second you have 4.10s. You have direct control of when you want to shift, unlike an auto that will always shift into its highest gear when cruising. Unless you plan on crusing at highway speeds below 55 mph, you should never be in the "dreaded" drone range of stingers.

I have Steeda stingers on my car with 3.55s. If I want to drive with no drone, I stay above 2,000 rpms, which means I need to stay above 65 mph when on the highway. Below 65? I shift it into 4th. Below 45? I shift it into 3rd. My car sounds badass with the stingers, it is the deepest sounding exhuast I have heard (with stock manifolds and stock h-pipe).

At this point in my life, I just want to get in my car and drive it. I don't want to have to manipulate gears to avoid cabin resonance. Every single time I have added an aftermarket exhaust it always came with a downside like droning which then makes me regret buying it. I thought maybe if I just bought an axle back system I could avoid this. It's like having 4 remotes for your TV, DVD, VCR & Stereo. From now on, I just want one!

ptaylor_9849, you know I've helped you in the past with other "issues". I'm telling you, go with the GTA's, they will be exactly what you are looking for. JBA's are popular with the V6 crowd and will probably not be what you want. I've heard 'em. The tips on the JBA's also stick out way to far and don't look right.

GTA's are what came stock on the Shelby GT's.

List of systems I've had on my car:

1) Stock with factory h-pipe (way to quiet.)
2) MAC's with factory h-pipe (horrific drone!)
3) GTA's with factory h-pipe (Very nice, deeper tone but not loud enough.)
4) IMCO Cherry Bomb "Pro Series" (Nice deep sound but too much drone. Not as bad as the MACs.)
5) Pacifica Performance "Boom Tubes" (Loud. No significant drone to bother me, but again, loud.)
