Intake and Tune... now what
After an intake and tune has been installed what is the next bolt on mod that will provide the MOST gains? My thought is headers and mid-pipe? But would something like the delete plates produce more power now that it is breathing better?
4.10 gear. And don't listen to the people who say or post they are not good for the hwy. I have 4.10 and I drive 75 miles a day to and from work with over 65 miles being hwy. I still avg 19-20 MPG combined. Keep in mind that in the afternoon there is stop and go traffic, so that negatively affects MPG. 4.10s are worth the 1-2 MPG drop.
You won't if you every drive in a Mustang with 3.55's or higher. I would also highly recommend gears in the future. Even an automatic Mustang S197 GT is geared better than a manual with 3.31's.
In the mean time, the next mod that would give you the biggest increase in power would be headers and a midpipe. Delete plates are cheap, it wouldn't hurt to do those either. A UDP will help a little bit too, but if you ever decide to get a supercharger it'll be useless.
There are other mods that won't give you any more power but will make the car feel different. Short shifter, single piece driveshaft, suspension bits (LCA, UCA, etc).

GEARS. That's next on my list. After that, save up for FI or get some suspension work.
Wait, you don't want gears? Well new rims/tires or just tires, but that can probably wait.
I'd just save for FI and maybe get some headers to hold you over.

I don't want to go FI either lol And no Nitrous. I want to stay N/A. EVENTUALLY I would like to put on cams and heads. And it'd be nice to run 11's N/A :-) I'll worry about suspension later. Right now I want some more power. Once i get into the 12's i'll start messing with the suspension. But my long term goal is 11's N/A and a suspension setup for Autocross. But that's pretty long term lol we're talking years. By time that happens this will no longer be my daily driver :-P
I want to keep my 3.31s because I don't want to shift to 4th once I start trapping that high of speeds. Once i've gotten to the point I have to shift.. i'll swap to 3.73s or 4.10s. :-P
