You know what, I didnt believe you guys when you said that our batteries are approx. 40-50 lbs. I went to Autobacs because they are having a store closing sale and they had a few Optima red top and yellow top batteries. I didnt think the red top would be heavy and almost blew out my back trying to pick that shiet up. I think i'd still be happy with the 17lb lightweight battery cuz that red top is mo fukin heavy!!!

I am sure you could drop 400 lbs. off your car if you wanted too. There was a thread about saving weight a few months back. My personal favorite is the replacement lexan windows, the carbon fiber doors are cool too.

So are these braile batteries gonna last longer than the stock battery. I seem to have the dead battery syndrome, if the car sits for two weeks or if I leave the radio on before turning the key off or forget to unplug my ipod, in about 3 days the car is dead. Will these lightweight batteries lose their charge just as fast?

Yep, an amperage draw is an amperage draw, no two ways about it.
The braille battery thats being touted here will discharge just as if
not faster if the key off amperage draw is the same with the Ford
battery. Unless you get a 200Lb catapillar battery with days of reserve
and mount it in the trunk (it will occupy most of the trunk).
