Default Roll Bar install

Just installed my 4-point today and it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Its an AutoPower bolt in with removable crossbar. Just me and a friend took 5 hrs. Biggest problem is trying to get the back panels over the rolll bar after you bolt it down tight. My only concern is I wanted to go with a fatter rear tire in the future and I might not be able to now because the bolts come through the wheel well and stick out towards the tire. Here are some pics of the finished install. Sorry pics are not that great because It was dark out when I finished. Car needs to be cleaned cause I just got home from the Bev Hills cruise...

You can still use the rear seat with one of those, he just has a rear seat delete. They have removable cross-members, so when you aren't at the track, you can take that middle bar out and have full access to the rear seats.

Would be nice to bash the crap out of your head on those Bar's that cant be removed. I pulled my rear seats since there was no way I was going to put my kids or anyone back there.

You either do it right or dont do it at all when it comes to safety. Rollbar should have race seats and harnesses.

Default roll bar install

I have one, but I haven't installed it yet. How did you figure out where to put the holes in the trim pieces (for the rear braces)?

I assume you are a road racer since you went with a non-NHRA regulation rollbar.
You should consider having somebody weld on tabs on the crossbar for mounting a harness. Rollbars are not really effective without a harness to hold you in.

Guess I should have given some background. The car is not my daily driver although it serves many purposes. The main reason for the bar is because I open road race (Silver State Classic). It is required for the level that Im going to race this year. I also have harnesses but will only install them when I race. Was thinking of putting in race seats but undecided right now. I know I eventually will, as I go up in speed class. With this bar you can still use your back seat but I dont need it so the cross bar will remain.

I mocked up where the holes would go with some PVC piping. I saw where it was going to hit, traced it out and then found a door **** bit to drill it out. Cleanup was done with a dremel tool.

WRT the bolts in the wheel well: I put an Autopower bar in each of a couple of racing Vegas (oh yes they were!), and to reduce the problem a little, I put the heads of the bolts on the outside and the double nuts on the inside. Every little 3/8 inch helps!
