Question HID Confusion

I'm thinking about adding HID's to my Vista Blue 07 GT. I was trying to decide between Stangmods or American Muscle HID kits and then I saw the Luminics bulbs and now I'm really confused. Are the Luminics bulbs a cheap way out of this or do I really want the HID's? If I need the HID kit, should I go Stangmods or AM?

Thanks a lot

you'll save yourself money in the long run by just going with the HIDS now. The luminics are a nice cheap alternative but nothing close to the real thing. I got mine from stangmods have dealt with them alot. Great customer service. Emaill matt@stangmods.com and tell him Nate sent you

FWIW, I recently went from the stock 3500K lamps in my SUV to 5000K and I'm not happy with the contrast due to the blue/white light (even WITH the contrast from the 2500K fogs). Maybe it's just my old eyes, but I'm sticking with the 4000K (Silverstars) or 4100K (Silverstar Ultras).

I'd hate to see you spend the money on 8000K or 10000K and then realize they're not right for you.

10k, really? the higher the kelvin the less useable light but more of blue/purple look. I had 8000k orignally and it was too blue for me. I have 6000k right now and am very happy.

Hey as far as HIDs I was reading somewhere on here about HIDs not working in our cars. I can't find it now but people were saying putting in the HID bulbs in the stock housing were causing the bulbs to burn out. Any truth? You know what I'm talking about?

Thanks

i have had mine for a year now with zero problems. havent even had any on coming traffic flash me. i know there was an issue about some of the generic kits not having the relay built in but most high quality kits like the ones stangmods sell have the relay built right into the harness.

+1, Retro-Solutions is much cheaper than Stongmod's kit and I'm pretty just as good if not, BETTER! Since they're a site vendor they're offering a discount for members so USE IT! I've had Luminics before and yea they make look like HID's, they don't even come remotely close to the real thing.
