Default which Tuner?

hey guys, i wanted to know which tuner i should use for my V6 S197... i was going to get the diablosport predator tuner with the C&L package for the gt, me and my freind were gunna split the cost... but im defreinding him cause ever since he got into college he changed and threw all his money into drugs and parties... so since im not gunna split it, its my own decision, so what you guys think is a good tuner?

sct = most pop.
but i mean they are generally gonna work similarly. Whatever you do, dont buy that sh#t new. You can ALWAYS find used ones on ebay and classified.
And sorry to hear about your friend. I can def relate to that myself. Just gotta move on sometimes.

As far as tuners go, it really doesn't matter which you go with (Diablosport of SCT), if you yourself isn't going to be doing any tuning. If you need access to toy with parameters, and need data logging features to tune your car then you may wish to actually delve into the world of handheld tuners and make a worthwhile purchase.

However if your like 95% of the rest of MFers here and just need a handheld device to upload new tunes from bama/brenspeed then either the DS or SCT will do just fine.

I would say just browse the classifieds on here and look for a deal on someone selling a tuner. I went with a DS and C&L intake simply because i saved $300 off of retail. Had i of had found a deal on a SCT i probably would have went with them.

Basically if your not doing the tuning yourself and just needing the device to upload tunes it really doesn't matter as you can get custom made tunes for either. Just look to see which one you find the better deal on.

Regardless of which tuner you get, be sure to get the custom tunes themselves from either Brenspeed, Bama, VMP, etc.. Do NOT get the canned tunes from Diablo, AM or other vendors that can't support them as well as those mentioned above.

BTW, why would you split the cost with a friend? If it was to share the tuner then think again. It can only be used on one car at a time (in other words, if you had your custom tune loaded, to load a custom tune on your friends car you'd have to return your car to stock first). Secondly, you can't use a custom tune for your car on another car.

neither the diablo or the sct are able to be shared between two people so it doesn't matter.

Get the SCT though, I can probably still find you one for $270.

The SCT is much better because it's programing software is much more flexible, it's the "windows XP" of adjusting fuel curves, and all of the most reputable tuners prefer to use it so that's the main reason.
