Just a question, did you drain the torque converter?
i read in the ford service manual that you need to disconnect the transmission lines from the radiator, then hook it up to a transmission flush and fill machine, this machine creates a suction draining the whole 13 quarts the transmission takes, it then does a reverse cycle and flushes in your new clean ATF.
Ford charge over 100 dollars for the service and the machine is over 4 grand lol so your way is good but for your 60,000 mile service, i reccomend you take it into ford.
We just orderd the machine for the shop so ill be using it in the next few weeks.

I'm going to drain & refill the pan tomorrow after putting a few miles on it,
then most of the fluid should be fresh
and if you "flush" the fluid you can not change the filter
so you get 100% new fluid and a old filter , or a new filter and mostly new fluid, its a choice that has to be made.

Pull the pan once the fluid is drained change the filter, re install the pan then fill er up
