Thanks for all the replies. I bought the JLT with the sct x3 tuner and have it in the garage waiting for spring. Too cold here in MI to install now. I'll post pics when done.

Not to hijack the thread, but since we're talking about shakers.... I noticed the other day one edge of the top trim ring is coming off. Anybody have any suggestions/ideas on an easy way to fix this other than taking it off and re-taping it?

I'm really impressed with the modifications that you guys have been able to do.

I just purchased an 08 Mustang Sherrod that has a Shaker Hood System and I wanted to change the stock filter to a CAI, but I'm wondering if I need to get the car tuned after installing it and making the modifications that you guys have done?

if you go with a CAI you will need a tune unless you get a K&N cai then no tune required but you wont see as big of a gain.

I stopped at a local shop that I heard was more speedshop than garage. Had a guy in there that used the stuff for exhaust and think he mentioned turbo's, but I thought maybe to big for that.... but I don't know anything about turbos.

Anyway, he told me it was "dairy" grade stainless steel. not sure where you could get it, but it has to be available somewhere. He charged me $20 so i am sure he made a nice margin, but he was cool and cut it to fit, ended up putting it on, and I couldn't find anything else I liked as much. Was well worth it to me.

First time I've heard of this problem myself.
Unfortantly, removing & re-taping is probably be the best fix for that.
Only other way would be to drill a hole thru the bottom trim piece & install a sheet metal screw thru it into the top piece.
