Default Help Please...Thinking about Spoiler Delete

I've tried searching and can't find what I'm looking for. I have the stock GT spoiler and am thinking about taking it off. If I do so, what are my options for filling the holes? Is it something I can do on my own? If you've done it, please post pics. Thank you.

You can go to the hardware store and get some plugs, take some touch up paint and plug them. Doesn't really look that bad bad IMO.

I heard a good way to go is to find someone who wants to spoiler and just swap trunk lids. Only prob is i've been trying for a few months and no one near DC wants to swap. I've heard you can just use plugs from pep-boys or autozone, heard they aren't too hard to find and just paint them.

It wouldn't be flush, not extremely noticeable though. Hopefully someone that's done this will chime in.

I did this with my '01 Cobra and used a metallic red spray paint which wasn't even a perfect paint match (laser red BTW). If you take your time an are careful it will turn out just fine. Cant really tell from a distance. I am **** and keep my car pretty clean so if I was happy with it most should be too. I used plastic plugs for an autoparts store and just used a latex caulk to make sure there were no leaks. Good luck...

You can have a shop weld up the holes and respray the trunk lid. I had mine deleted when I wrecked my car and you can't tell a hole was there. It would cost a couple hundred dollars i'm sure.

i would do it the right way and weld and spray the trunk not a big area so should be that much but it would be worth the money

Or you could buy a new trunk lid with no holes or find a used one from the junk yard. Have a shop spray that one. It should be cheaper than welding yours and you could still drive your car around while it's being painted.

Hey... judging by your avatar pic, it looks like you did it!

How did it come out? What size plugs did you need?
