Lowering/Suspension
I have Billet LCA's on my car right now, and I am wondering whether I should get a lowering kit. I have a couple questions for it though. The one I'm looking at will lower the rear 1" and the front .75" Since I already have the lca's, will I need to be a relocation bracket, or will I have to buy adjustable uca's? Or can I just put the springs on with nothing else and it won't affect what my lca's are already doing? Thanks!
Hopefully Sam Strano will chime in on this... I have an 05 GT and here is what Im running.. Ebiach pro kit, Koni's, upper Steeda HD strut mounts, adjustable pan hard bar. Lowered the front a little over an inch and the back almost an inch and a half. Car handles great, doesnt ride much stiffer than the stock set up and no more wheel hop! I didnt do anything with LCA's or UCA's and Im happy with this set up however I dont race my car. Good luck!
With a mild drop, you can prob get by without having to adjust pinion angle, but it would be better to get an adjustable UCA to correct the angle (adj LCAs work too, but since you already have aftermarket non-adj LCAs, you can go with the adj UCA). I don't think relocaton brackets are necessary. You may want to get an adj panhard rod though, lowering will cause the rear end to shift to one side. Though the shifting won't be too dramatic with the mild drop, you might not need it depends on how your rear end is aligned from the factory.
I lowered mine a few days ago and didnt need the adjustable panhard. I do need upper strut mounts though. I made it a whole 35 miles before the passenger side went to crap. I just ordered the SVT mounts. Hope they work better!
You sure you don't need to just tightent the front sway bar end link bolt that attaches to the strut? After lowering my car, that SOB comes loose every couple of monthes and makes clunking noise like crazy until I tighten it.
