yea the tire psi will help alot my bud at the track Friday was trying his new n555s and was spinning all over the place . I asked someone else with the same tires that seemed to not spin very much what he was running. he told me 15psi . I turned to my friend and asked what he was running . he replied ''40psi'' no wonder . I helped him put his psi at 20 .(he ran his best time of the night)
40psi!??? damn that's almost as bad as one of our buddies last season who had his stock tires on his roush at 50psi! haha
I cut a 1.78 60' on 39PSI street tires my very firs time ever at a drag strip, it's all in how you drive it. I ride out first gear with the clutch and it's ***** to the wall the rest of the way. Be interesting to see what happens with my radials
To the OP, DONT GET DISCOURAGED! And buy your camera guy a tripod. Just play with it, are you letting it sit at least 20 minutes between runs?

i was trying to cool it down between runs, but the staging lanes are rather long to push it all the way, so it was start-stop, start-stop, the whole time. but i did have the hood up.
I was wondering on this as well, what tire pressure should I run with my nitto 555's? Also, what rpm are you guys shifting at (1-2, 2-3)? I tried dumping the clutch at 3500rpm and it still seemed to bog.

If you want a better run, park it in the pit for 20, then hop into the staging lane. It shaved a few tenths of my run I was amazed.
