Default desperately need help on jba shorty header install

Hey i just finished my jba shorty TC header install. I started the car up and i think im getting exhaust leaks. Theres smoke coming from both of the headers. I tightened them up all the way and its like this. Maybe ill try tighting them up more.
Is my problem because its not tighted all the way? Are there any other problems that im not aware of? Thanks.

They're burning off oil, paint, of what ever else may have gotten on them while you were doing the install. So long as you tighten all of the bolts down you should be good. Enjoy the extra exhuast note..

the smoke went away but i can smell the exhaust. I tightened the top bolts down more and theres less leaking i think. Now I have to super tighten the bottom ones tommorow.
UGH I FREAKIN HATE THIS.
this means i have to remove the motor mounts again

it should be safe, ur gunna need to get it to not leak anymore, did you use a torque wrench? did you torque it in the right sequence pattern, and are you sure that the gasket is fitted properly? but yes it should be safe to drive it with a minimal leak, its just gunna smell, and depending how bad, motorcycle cops may smell it to. what state u in?

California. Dammit theres a sequence pattern to installing the headers? There was no mention of it in the install.

You are probally just burning the oil and factory coating that is on headers, mine did that for about a weak before smell went away.
