Interesting, that's kind of what they did with the older Fox body with the inset double headlights when the newer style came out with the single piece headlight design. They had a conversion kit for like 85-88 you could do to make it look like an 89 and up.

personal opinion... a retarded twin with down syndrome looks better than any production mustang between about 1975 and 2004. (don't get me wrong, I don't like it either...)

I actaully saw one similar to that in Marina Del Rey on the street. Silver vert with blue racing stripes down the hood. I thought it was the new one the first time i drove by it. the second time I saw and then wondered why it had a license plate that began with a 4... since the most recent sequential plates have been starting with a 5 for a couple of years now.
Guess it was one of those off jobs.
Can't figure out why people sepnd all that time and money doing things like that!
