You gain from both, I didn't pull my crank to test vice versa, but a big block we did gained 28 hp. And if you've ever looked at a 4.6 crank from us, they are basically knife edged to begin with. You can take this for what it's worth: We did a Ford 9" rear chunk and gained 17 rwhp!?! It's unbelievable what reducing a little friction will do.
Hmm.... maybe when I do gears I'll send them to ya.
I just changed to 4.10s. I have my 3.31's in a box outside. Any pointers on how to get the stench off of them? (they smell horrible, I cannot even bring them in the garage) My will make me sleep with them if I do....
I have no idea man, sorry!

so is this kinda like sand blasting, but softer? You just cleaned all the oil off the gears right?

No sir, those were brand new gears absolutely zero oil on them. It's not a blast, it's a polish, it's hard to explain without seeing it. My original thoughts were valve covers, but the problem is there is an oil baffle in the inside that would be next to impossible to seal off, and the media is so small it could tear a motor to shreds if introduced into the system.
hey, PM me your build as well, I've always been curious what all you have done to that beast. I'm almost decided that I won't be adding any FI ever, just go NA in the future, but I want to do a stroker and the whole shebang. Instant power and much, much lighter. If I can get close to 420-430rwhp NA, then I say it's completely worth giving up the 20whp of a blower to save the weight on the front end.
