Default Shakey steering wheel

Ok i just had new rims and tires put on the car yesterday. Steeda ultra light 18x9.5s with sumitomo ZRII 275/40/18s.

He told me to take it easy for first 100 miles. I have not driven the car hard since yesterday when i got it back. I had a road force mount and balance job done. At about 50mph the steering wheel shakes really bad, as in i can let go and you can visually see it shaking bad.

What could have went wrong, and what should i tell the place that installed them to do?

Before you do anything else, check to see if there are clips on the any of the wheel studs. You'll need to remove the wheels to check. These clips are part of the assembly line work and are not required for post-production and can sometimes be found on 1 or more studs per wheel. They can be removed with a pair of needlenose pliers or a screwdriver. With aftermarket wheels, they prevent the wheel from sitting flush and can cause vibration.

If that's not it, go back to the place that did the balance and let them check it out.

Take it back and have them get in the car with you and take it for a test drive and show them the problem. I'm sure once they see it they can most likely fix it.

Have them drive it to be able to justify the shake and when they put the car up and take the wheels off, they will see the retaining clips left on by the factory.

Tires and rims were purchased brand new. So those clips are def a possibility. Should i just tell them to check for "retainer clips"?
