you will have to pay both taxes, and depends on were the rims are made,if there not made in the usa then i think its 11% but i'm not 100% sure

made in north america = duty free, just PST / GST

if its made outside of canada , it gets really cryptic

there is a PDF format on CBSA's webpage with the % rates they will charge

I just payed $80 duty on a used set of springs I bought for $100 from a member on here.
It depends on what the declared value is and the courier used. UPS seems to be way worse than USPS. The rate is based on a scale.
for example:
$1-$50 = no duty
$50-150 = $xx.xx
$150-500 = $xxx.xx
On top of the duty you still pay the taxes (even on used goods) which is bs and there were also a few misc fees tacked on too. I don't ever remember it being this bad before but i'm sure you can thank the "war on terror" for most of the cost increases.

No offense to people serving over there or veterans.

**shudder**

UPS Is the absolute WORST when shipping from USA to Canada

always opt for USPS or have it delievered to a PO box in the USA and bring it back across the border yourself

Where in Canada are you ?? I'm in BC and got a decent price on some TSW 20" rims. Weren't much more than US price's but that was when the Canadian $ was near the US $.

Any way I wouldn't order rims from the states unless its from American muscle because they include brokerage and duty fees.

Try our sponsors and if your picking them up in USA...have them mounted and balanced in USA and drive it back home.....no other fees expressed or implied....JMO and no it is not legal but who would know?

I have seen it done for S/C's (install and tuning as well as parts) ...They had no clue at the border

I am getting the Rims shipped to ND ( I live In Manitoba) Then i am just driving down there to go and pick them up. So i Wont have to deal with shipping fees to get them over the border, just whatever they try and charge when i drive back over.

The problem is you would have the wheels and tires you just took off in your trunk and backseat so you are probably going to get popped either way. If you were bringing them from CA to the US I could tell you exactly how to do it w/o a problem, but going the other way I really don't have much insight on that. I will say though, make sure they were made in the US, MX or CA and that you can show that somewhere either on a bill of sale or better yet stamped on the rim themselves. This clears them as a duty free for the most part, not sure if there is a price cap on that, in the US there is, it's $2000.
