Default Barrett-Jackson Auctions

With the release of the 05 retro style Mustang and the Shelby coming out, do you think the classic pre 69 Mustangs will bring in a high price at the Barrett-Jackson auction? Last year when the Hemi engines came back into production, the old ones were bringing in some big bucks. Do you think the Mustang will do good this year at the auction?

The rare ones will (and have) for sure... but, remember, Ford sold a million Mustangs by 1966... not all of them are rare.

the reintroduction of the hemi had nothing to do with the old mopars going for primo bux. The hemi cars have been super expensive for years.

There was a mustang that just went for a 1/4 of a million dollars just about a month ago, something like that.

It was the 68' GT500KR convertible that sold for 224,000 at Russo & Steele.

What Barrett-Jackson Auction???
They cancelled it! It was supposed to be this coming weekend, now we don't get one and the O.C. get it instead!
Anyway, i would expect the rare Mustangs from '67-69 to go for big $$$. Especially anything with that big 428.
But a word of caution! Because there were so many Stangs produced there are plenty being converted to Shelbys. Last year we saw lots of impressive Mustangs and Shelby GT350s and GT500s. And only an expert could tell if it was real or one of those resto-jobs.

Big blocks and rare Mustangs always bring good money. I don't think the introduction of the '05 will influence the value of the older Stangs.

The same with the Hemi's. Any classic Mopar with a Hemi brings big bucks.

Yea... read this month's issue of Hot Rod... there is a story about a guy who has many of them. Just sold one for $3,000,000. And turned down $5,000,000 for another one. Sheesh
