I felt a nice difference with shorties.... very noticeable power gains. Plus, a great sound improvement! Really surprised me when I first revved 'er up.
You own the 6 cylinder mustang rite?

yeah... 4.0L... dunno how shorties will effect the 4.6L... the exhaust is already pretty open on 'em

The shorty headers will help the V6 alot more than the V8. I would say it's worth doing on the V6. Especially if you also add dual exhaust. Should help a lot on the 4.0 l.

thanks to all for all opinions. From this I will wait for long tube headers.

Funny, I have heard the same thing about CIA's....they aren't worth the money for the small power gain. The only Mustang the CIA's (Densecharger!) really seem to work well on are the 390 HP Cobra's. The higher your base horsepower, the more significant all your little bolt-on's will improve your power/torque curve. Like adding headers to a 150 HP rice burner.....lots of "blow" but no "go"! If you were lucky you would gain 8 to 10 HP. I imagine a good pair of shorty headers on any Mustang around or over 300 HP will provide a noticable difference.
