Question Rod and Piston Upgrade?

Looking to switch to a 14psi pulley on the Whipple and am looking to upgrade the internals. I was looking at ModMax pistons and rods along with livernois' bolts, ModMax rings, and head gaskets. Is this all I need and I figured I should be looking around $2800 install+tune?

Crap didn't check that...meant $2800 for install+tune...going to edit that. For my goals I've read that the stock crank should last just fine? I'll be going with some bearings. I'm thinking about getting another block somewhere and trying out the install...

My new set up will be:

manley forged h-beams=$250 off classifieds
JE 9.1:1 pistons=$500 off classifieds
diamond rings=coming with the pistons
new rod bearings=$70,summitt
new main bearing=$110,summitt
new head gaskets=flepro maybe $100,summitt or i may do OEM $180
head stud kit=ill be using a 2v kit for $215
main stud kit=$230 from SHM
livernois windage tray=$100
ford racing oil pump=$63 from ford
oil pan gasket for windage tray=$15 from livernois
VMP re-tune=$200
spec 3+ clutch=$450
turn the stock flywheel=$40

stock crank should be fine, i will be re-using mine also. Im not sure what the machine shop will charge yet for balancing and re-assembly. VMP is charging $200 for the re-tune.Some say use OEM headgaskets only, others say the felpro 1141 gaskets are fine.So untill i see some evidence of failure i will probably use the felpro.Ford racing oil pump is pretty cheap and from wha i have heard it is the stock pump in the gt500,so it should hold up just fine for what we want.My goal is to be back in business for $3000 tunned to 550 for the strip or 14 PSI,what ever comes first.

That's the setup I'm looking for...but with parts that is 2k roughly. So the shop you are using is only charging 1k for install or are you doing it yourself?

im not expecting to pay more than $500 for the assembly of the motor. ill do my own install as far as putting the motor back in.

i have been talking with MMR about what i need and thier prices are awesome. from what i have listed they will save me another $100. im fixing to pull the trigger on all this small stuff.

I spoke to JDm about redoing the short block, as well as a bunch of other things for the engine. There cost was around $11K+ for the build/install. They said it would be a 291 after all is done.

Lol they building you a custom, only one made, tuned with a 6-speed behind it, making 600rwhp with 29mpg engine? 11k is a LOT...almost, or more than double most builds...
