Default Chrome Exterior Door Handles

I've found some chrome handle and mirror covers on American Muscle. I guess they are plastic covers that apply on what is existing using 3m tape. Is this the best out there, or are there metal ones that can be a replacement instead?

Has anyone used these, and are they durable?

Thanks

There are a few companies selling the painted mirror frame covers but chrome? I don't think so. IMO, adding chrome to the S197 is a detractor.

I have chrome handle covers on mine and think it looks good but I have a mineral grey with black stripes so it blends better but depends what colors your putting it against.

Although in my opinion chrome mirror covers would look pretty ugly, if anything get the mirror covers that come in your car colour!

I personally am not a fan of chrome or chrome trim but that is the beauty of aftermarket accessories manufacturers, they make a product for personalization to suit everyones taste. As far as your question, American Muscle uses quality products from reputable MFG's.

I had them on my white GT and it looked great. However, your car being black, I'm not so sure it would look all that good. It would be a little contrasting. But again, it's your car, so do what you like. They are very nice and durable and had no problems. I had bought both the mirror and handle covers off Ebay.

I have the chrome stick on door handles and I really like them.
They go nicely with the theme of my car and I think look good on a black car.
They've held up nicely for more than 2 years.

I've seen the chrome mirror covers in person and I don't really like them ...
it's just too much for me.

Here's an older picture of the door handles:

Ahh, I found the picture of the guy that had them both at one of the cruises I went to. Hope this helps!

I'm a big fan of chrome as long as it's done right and not tacky. Done right, it makes these cars look even more like the 60's stangs that they were designed after anyway.

That's one thing I think is a shame is cars today don't have all the chrome that cars a long time ago had. The old mustangs had quite a bit of chrome and it looked great. Now we get a lot of ugly fat plastic covers covering everything up. I also hate how modern cars don't have real (and chrome) bumpers anymore. Instead we get molded plastic covers. Yuk!

So I'm all for trying to make it look like the older cars as modern cars, most of them, are just ugly POS.
