I heard it does nothing but I have to believe it has to help in some fashion. It definitely helps in the visual dept. The GT500 version can be picked up from parts dept for well under a hundred bucks and you can paint to match. Look closely and you can see it in black in my sig. I later painted it yellow but now have the gray Ford racing version.

I have the OEM Bullitt brace which is the same as the FRPP V6 brace, clears the manifold cover by about 1/2", also no issues with hood clearance.

I highly recommend the Edelbrock 3-pt brace for convertibles.

I have the same as PartsBill and I think it looks awesome. No clearance issues at all:

I have no brace on my vert and can definitely feel the cowl shake. I need to find one that fits under a gt500 hood and over a whipple supercharger. I think steeda makes one for their 500 hp car BUT the hood is different. Any tried this unit for their GT500/whipple cars??

I'm extremely happy with the Edelbrock on my convertible. It's not pretty, but the 3-pt design and firewall reinforcement plate makes the brace very solid. I noticed improved steering and cornering, and less flexing/shake on bumpy roads. I had mine professionally installed and the shop tech told me it was the best tower brace he had seen for the new Mustangs.

Another vote here for the Ford Racing / Bullitt brace. Heck, I liked it so much, I bought a Bullitt...!!!!!
