Default Installing Hurst tips

Hey guys i just bought a hurst competition sts from a member on the forums and i am about to put it on. I know there is a write up about the hurst in the DIY section, do you think that Taco Bill's MGW or saleen sts would work with the hurst? Reason is i used taco bills write ups before and they are awesome!

Is there anything i can do pre-install to prevent the rattle with hurst?

Also, just to make sure the guy sent all the parts, what is supposed to be included?

Any tips on install?

I had a shop install my hurst billet,so i cant help much on the install. but definetly use some blue loc-tite on the bolts for the shifter arm to help reduce rattles! if i remember correctly theres not very many parts other than the shifter arm, hurst ball and bolts. install re-uses other factory shifter parts! good luck!

The rattle comes from the shift arm, and that is serviceable from within the car. Other than that, there really isn't anything else that needs to be done before install.

Use copper washers to hold the handle down tight...
I also use longer bolts so I can put a jam nut on the other side.
I crank everything real tight and it does the trick.

Good luck.

patience my friend and it also helps to have an extra set of hands to help guide the shifter down through the consol into position, blue loctite helps too took me about 2 hours to do it all myself, no extra hands for me, but thats how i work best. if i had to do it again i could probably do it in an hour or so

And I thought this was a post about installing new Hurst Exhaust Tips.
Boy, was I wrong....
I guess the word 'shifter' was too tough to type.

I used loc tite, and a good tighten job, no problems as of 6 months later. The only parts included should be the shifter itself, the shift boot grommet thing and the rear poly bushing, that's it.

By the far the mod I get the most compliments on.

It should come with both the rear and forward bushing.
