Default 18's vs 20's

im planning on ordering some new rims and im debating between 18s and 20s. y would like 20s but i hear they make your car go alot slower. i know there heavier, but is there really a big diffrence on how ur mustang performes?

well my best run with 20's on is a 13.6...identical cars with 17's or 18's are running 13.2 or better.

Thats accurate but also a worst case scenario. There are some 20s that perform better than 18s, for example steeda ultralites.

well are you plannign on tacking ur stang to the tracks? because if not then why do you care? i got 20's (no pics yet) but i know there are other advantages to 18's such as you dont have to worry about damaging ur wheels as much in dips and bumps and it is lighter to as stated by others. but unless ur really planning on racing it then dont worry.

honestly i dont plan on tacking my car to the track cuz the closest one is three hours away. however if i do race in the street or track i dont want to get smoked by a ricer by a nose cuz i know the rims might of effected the outcome

20's are heavier, make you have lower gear ratio, and a rougher ride!!
I personally dont have them but from the posts i have read this is the problem with them!!
On the plus side they look awesome on our cars!!
I think 18's with a fat tire looks really good too!! more old school muscle type look!!

I used to not like 20's but eventually got some. Performance didn't suffer as much as I thought it would. They sure make your car stand out.

35-45mm/20x8.5 up front and 40-50mm/20x10's on the rear. Make sure you get stay with a 27 diameter tire front(255/35/20) and rear(275/35/20) if you don't want any speedo issues. You could run run up to a 305/35/20 on the rear and your speedo may be off a few MPH but nothing its to snivel about.
If you don't drag race your car at every street light get the 20's,like 2007CalSpec says they look hot, just look at his ride.
