Default Ipod volume?

On my 09 Shelby I cant adjust the volume on my Ipod when its playing through aux input on the shaker 1000? On my old 07gt, with the shaker 500 I could adjust the volume on my ipod making the volume on the Ipod almost at its max and having the volume on the head unit about 1/2, giving me more volume. Am I missing something.... or the is the volume **** on the head unit the only way? It just does not get loud enough? Thanks guys.

Volume on the ipod has nothing to do with the volume on the stereo. Only reason it wouldnt get louder if you turn up the volume on the ipod is because you arent plugging into the headphone jack on the top of the ipod and you are using the plug on the bottom (ipod data) to a headphone jack. The volume of the plug that comes out of the bottom is already set to a certain level and cannot be changed but if you are just using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm male plug and going into the aux plug in the stereo you should be able to change the volume because the stereo has no control over the volume of the ipod.

I have an ipod and use the 3mm aux plug to the headphone on top of it to the aux plug in the car. I have the volume maxed on the ipod and still have to turn up the volume on the stereo to 3/4 to get sound. What gives? the ipods volume is maxed in settings, and i does not matter what song I play.
I also own a 08 explorer with SYNC and that plugs in to the bottom of the ipod through a USB port in the console. When i use this my volume level is perfect, I do not have to have the stereo turned so far up.
Can one of you audio experts explain this to me? Is there a cheap and easy fix to "up" the volume when playing the ipod on the Mutang? I have tried the FM converters as well-- they just get too much static because there are not many stations to use.

could you plug your ipod in through the slit on the bottom using AUX? i jsut plug it into the headphone jack and it works fine for me, but it would be nice to be able to charge it too!

I'm going to get an iPod for my 2007 Mustang and I know about the aux connection in the console. But I see that there is a lot of confusion about the control. Can you control the function of the iPod through the radio or do you have to control it through the iPod itself?

I've been getting many different opinions on this. Does anyone here know for sure?
