Default Tranny flush coming tomorrow, thank god for hookups

so after reading all the threads about transmission flushes going on i decided to take the drive down to the dealer to get a quote on my way to school. heard about some of you paying 110 at your dealers and got a quote of 185 here in bakersfield!! wtf! laughed at them and left without saying a word. Sucks when we only have 2 ford dealers here in town and the nearest ones are so far away.

luckily my regular mechanic who does all my suspension, gears, driveshaft work hooked me up with one of his buddies who is a manager at a shop. getting it done for 100 bucks out the door tomorrow. saved 85 bucks! haha

ill post my thoughts and differences i notice tomorrow afternoon once it's done.

yeah but i don't have the tools or the time to get it done. i'd rather pay the 100 bucks and get it done without the hassle this time around.

Good for you...but is there more work to a transmission flush than just basically letting it drain out, then filling it up?

i just used the fluid they had there which i think was mercon... paid 100 bucks for it so i didn't want to spend more cash bringing my own fluid. can't believe i waited so long to get this done. just took the car out for a quick spin and feels a lot smoother now.
