My understanding is that on a N/A car, when they are not fully open, they are actually making more power than with the deletes. Doesn't that mean the deletes are making any power over stock only when the plates are fully open? Plus, I think they are fully open at around 3000 RPM... Right?

this is a cheap and affordable way of making hp for n/a. Granted, having a custom tune is better, but you can just tune it yourself with an sct. There is an option to set delete plate to none on the sct. I know that custom tune is much better, but my car is an ongoing mod so I cant afford to spend money to purchase tunes and what not.

I'd only recommend them if you aren't going to S/C for awhile (or if you are going to do a vortech) The gains are hardly noticeable from them alone. you also cut 1 pound off over the stock I'm planning an almost full N/A build (no heads, cams are a ??) before I s/c and it will be a few years yet before I do anyway.

I'm very interested in some of the N/A builds going on now.. they are really finding a lot of ways to squeeze out 400rwhp and easily getting 350+rwhp now and all of these builds I've seen include delete plates.

So would it be worth it to buy the economy plates or just leave it alone.

If you do them yourself by all means yes. if you are going to have someone else install for pay no.

Also if you will do cams and LTs you should do them too.

thats my approach to the subject.

As I said earlier, they are easy install (for me anyway) but look tacobills thread and judge for yourself. Do not forget you will need to have an appropriate tune for the car!

I have the CMDP and I did the install myself. It is an easy install. If I remember right it took about 2 maybe 2.5hrs. I had a dyno run on my car stock and then with the Plates and tune, also I ran the car at the track to see what the difference is with the plates. I have the results in my sig. To me the plates are a good investment. The tune will correct any loss of low end torque. With the plates and tune the hp and tq will increase through the entire power band.
