Default Security Question

I have an 06 GT with the factory security system. It is the one that has all the extra sensors. The problem I am having is when I leave the door unlocked approx 30-45 seconds later the security system automatically locks the door. Can I turn this off. thanks.

Have you tried reading the owners manual by any chance?
If it dont say how to turn it off, you cant.
If it gives instructions on changing it, then you can.

Are you sure you don't have an aftermarket alarm? I have the optional factory security system and the only way you can arm it is to either press the power lock button or press the button on the remote, I think also if you lock the driver door with the key it will arm too. I never heard of the factory alarm being passive, especiall that it would automatically lock the doors?

Then its Aftermarket installed by Ford.
When you say "Ford" do you mean Ford
UAW workers on the assembly line or Ford
stealership dealer installed.
Find the alarm brain and look for the instruction
manual online from the Brand and model #.
Are your RKE transmitters OEM Ford style
or aftermarket 'Viper' style?

Maybe take it back to "Ford" and have them explain
the features and proper operation for you....

It is probably an alarm installed by the dealer. Mine is factory installed and it is only activated by pushing the lock button on the remote pad. Otherwise, the door will be unlocked until I hit the remote.
