Default How much would you pay? 08 GT/CS Vert NEW

So a local dealership has an 08 GT/CS Vert - Dark Candy Apple Red Metallic and they want me to trade in my 05 GT on it. Problem is I can't seem to get a good bead on what the CS is worth? It's New, never reigstered, but the second I drive it off, it's going to be 2 years, you know?

So what do you think IT'S REALLY WORTH? How much would you pay that is?

I think its worth 24-26k only because its a CS. I know someone who was looking for a CS and dealerships wouldnt go below like 25 or 27k kinda a strange market I guess. Maybe they are worth less now that the 2010s came out? I know the verts cost a little bit more sometimes than the hard tops. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

So the dealership wants you to do it?

I bet my dealership wants me to go down and and trade in my GT/CS on a brand new 2010 GT500... :-)

Do you want to trade in your car? It looks pretty nice to me...

here is the most I would pay, take the sticker price multiply it by .895 this gives you a ruff invoice price, ie within + or - 2 or 300, then I would take 5500 off that price, this would be the absolute most I would pay. I would most likely negotiate 500-750 below even that price. do all price negotiations over the phone, if they have you in the showroom they have you and can bring tactics to bear, over the phone you are more likely to flex your muscle and they know it, the attitude is totally different.

next after you have negotiated the price the next hurdle is the finance mangers office, they will try and F you just as much as the salesmen, make sure your rate is competitive, don't buy gap insurance, or extended warranties, read carefully what you are signing.

and example would be

sticker price 36500
32667 invoice price
-5500 '08 incentive amount
max sales price $$27167

many dealerships try to add doc fees of like 2 or 300 bucks this is crap if you ask me and something else the finance manager springs on you, nowadays I try to negotiate an out the door price including tax and license in your case with the example price above, I would say 28,500 out the door, arm twist hang up whatever, if that doesnt' work top out at around 29k out the door.

tell me what the sticker is on the new car and I can give you xact numbers

If it is new and not registered then you still have the 5 year warrenty. Yes it will be a little less when selling etc...

Since it is new but over two years old, I would try to to offer them 28000, but highest I would go is 30000 and ask for full price KBB on your car.

I would say this is a pretty fair assessment. The kbb value is around 27.5k for a used 2008 cs vert and no matter what the dealer says, it is used for all practical purposes since you can't even look up the new price of a 2008 anymore.

I would not pay a penny more than 25. I ve seen brand new GT 5 speed coupes in mid 22's and Im sure theres even better out there if you dig deep enough.

Oh and make sure the paint is in good condition. Dealerships suck at washing cars most of the time...
