Default p0161 code???

So the time has come to take my car in for emissions.I put the stock airbox back on and reset the tune to stock, I noticed the check engine light was on so I reset it.

When I went to DEQ I passed all the tests but they said since the computer has recently been reset I need to put at least 50 miles on the car then go back. The problem is that if I turn the car off the check engine light comes back on.

Does anyone know if I can pass emissions if the check engine light is on, if not how do I clear that code for good?

Don't know... sounds like you need to reset it and go for a 50 mile drive...

Does anyone know if the light/code will stay cleared if I clear it and then drive 50 miles?

Wouldn't it be better to repair/replace whatever is wrong with the O2 sensor circuitry?

That's the thing, I don't know what it is.

Well, I don't know what you need to do either.

I looked up the diagnostic trouble code and it says O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2).

If you're interested in fixing the problem rather than simply trying to get the MIL light to turn off, maybe someone more technically oriented can chime in.

If the light is on, you will not pass an emissions test in most states. Also, you often have to drive the car a certain number of miles after clearing a code or disconnecting the battery, before the car is ready for an emissions test. If the emissions test equipment shows that the car is not ready to be tested, you need to drive it some more. By then the MIL light will probably be back on.
